"We appreciate you taking the time and thought to fill out a Team Online Application recently. Unfortunately, you were not selected to be a part of the team this year...."

PhotobucketI think PokerRon said it best in his recent blog post found here, but to reiterate some points, applying for Team PokerStars was my main reason for creating a blog as well. As it is one of the main requirements to apply. But, since having made one, and having received a positive reaction to it, i will continue to post random bullshit for the hell of it.

I will also reapply for Team PokerStars next year if i find myself living abroad.

book-aments

Been catchin' up on my Elizabethan tragedies..
Read Hamlet earlier this year and just finished Othello today.
Hamlet was amazing.
Othello started off slow for me, but by Act IV/V i really enjoyed it.

'if after every tempest comes such calms,
may the winds blow till they have wakened death.'

the casting in my head made for an interesting read....

i couldn't escape the fact that i knew Laurence Fishburne had played Othello, so Othello was played by Moor-pheus.. (that was not intended to be a racist pun, just a funny pun.) hm..  anyway, Desdemona was played by Emilia Clarke, Iago was played by the inversely inspired Aladdin villain "Iago" (the parrot), and Desdemona's servant 'Emilia' (Iago's wife) was also played by Emilia Clarke, for obvious reasons.

prolly not how willy shakes pictured it, but entertaining none the less.

Next up is King Lear.
which, i can only assume, resembles this guy:

vinivici9586 (UTG): $100.00

Pre Flop: ($2.90) Hero is BB with

Honestly, my first thought vs. this villain was, "i should open jam."
Since being at the table i watched him call AIP with 64ss, jam A5o, and back-raise call AIP with 66 250bbs deep. Here, we're effectively 357bbs deep.

1 fold, villain raises to $3, 1 fold, thegame2006 calls $3, 2 folds, Hero raises to $12, villain raises to $40, 1 fold, Hero calls $28

I opted to take a flop with the plan of 'never folding'. lol.
Whether i check raise a ton of flops AI, or just let him barrel with overs out etc.

Flop: ($84.90) 3 5 5 (2 players)

Hero checks, villain bets $105.50, Hero raises to $495.44 all in, villain calls $211.60 all in

i could've just opted to let him barrel, especially with the overbet, but after witnessing his propensity to put all the money in the middle, i just shipped. meh. i guess i could've flatted to keep in his bluffs.. but i just wanted to get the money before his cat jumps on the keyboard or a power outtage. He calls so wide (all his draws, A/K/Qhi's, and all better). this time he had a monster for his range.

Turn: ($719.10) T

River: ($719.10) 6

Final Pot: $719.10
villain mucks 8 8
Hero shows J J (two pair, Jacks and Fives)
Hero wins $716.30

bored, watching the boston/6'ers game, i did a range analysis of what i think his calling range was. all of which i think are in his utg raise/ re-raise range. pretty sure villain was stuck around 4k at the hundo-deep game in two days.

5/23

one o' dem days...
just had a feelin' i was gonna hit a wall today.

runner runner two or three times..
2/3 outted at least 6x..
flop/turned flushes against the same fish twice.. came a four card on the river FTL.
AK<AQo AIP against regfish.
etc. etc. too tilted too play. time for beer.
had a nice run.
